Dog-Friendly
How many dogs can I bring?
You’re welcome to bring as many dogs as you are comfortable having in your room. I don’t set a strict limit, as long as everyone is happy and relaxed.
Are there any size or breed restrictions?
No — all breeds and sizes are welcome.
Is there an extra charge for dogs?
No, there is no additional charge for bringing your dog.
Are dogs allowed in all areas of the accommodation?
Yes, dogs are welcome throughout your accommodation.
Can dogs be left alone in the room?
If your dog is happy being left alone and you are not away for long periods, that’s fine. I would just appreciate being informed in advance.
Do you provide dog beds, bowls or towels?
Yes. Towels, throws, poo bags, treats and bowls are provided, and dog beds can be supplied if I know in advance. There is also a warm outdoor dog shower.
Is there outdoor space for dogs?
Yes, there is outdoor space available, which is shared with other guests.
Is the outdoor area enclosed?
Yes, when the gate is closed the area is enclosed. Larger dogs are secure, though very small dogs (such as a dachshund) may be able to squeeze through.
Are there other animals on site?
Yes, I have two dogs and a cat who live on the property.
Are there dog-friendly walks nearby?
Yes — many wonderful walks start nearby, with spectacular coastal views. Full details are available on the website, and I’m always happy to recommend routes.
Are nearby beaches dog-friendly?
Yes. White Park Bay has no dog restrictions and is a favourite with guests.
Are there dog-friendly pubs or cafés nearby?
Yes. The Bothy at Portbradden is dog friendly, as are The Fullerton Arms and The Carrick-a-Rede pub/restaurants.
Is there an outdoor dog wash?
Yes, there is a warm outdoor dog shower, ideal after muddy or sandy walks.
Is there somewhere to dry muddy dogs?
Yes. Dog towels are provided, and the flooring is hard flooring, making it easy to clean after outdoor adventures.
What should I bring for my dog?
Your dog’s own bed is recommended, although one can be provided if you let me know in advance.

Is the accommodation quiet and peaceful?
Yes. Dunseverick Rambler’s Rest is a quiet, peaceful place to stay, ideal for guests looking to relax and unwind after exploring the coast.
Do the rooms have private access?
Rooms 1 and 2 share a small lobby area. The upstairs room has its own private access.
Is parking available on site?
Yes, on-site parking is available for guests.
Do you offer self-catering facilities?
Yes. Each room includes a well-equipped kitchenette with a fridge (with freezer box), two-ring hob, microwave/convection oven combi, toaster, kettle, and everything you should need during your stay.
Is there Wi-Fi and TV?
Yes. Free Wi-Fi and a TV are provided in all rooms.
Is the accommodation suitable for longer stays?
Yes, the accommodation is well suited to longer stays, particularly for walkers and guests exploring the area over several days.
Are the rooms cleaned daily?
No. This is self-catering accommodation, so daily cleaning is not provided. For stays longer than four nights, I’m happy to arrange cleaning if requested, but otherwise I won’t intrude on your space.
Is smoking allowed anywhere on the property?
Smoking is permitted in the outside patio areas only.
Walkers & Location
Are there walks directly from the door?
Yes. You can walk down to the bottom of the hill to join the Causeway Coast Path directly from the property.
How close are you to the Causeway Coast Path?
Approximately 300 yards from the door.
Are the walks suitable for different fitness levels?
Most walks from the door involve some hills and rough ground, so guests should be comfortable with uneven terrain. There is a wide choice of routes once you’re out exploring.
Can you recommend quiet or lesser-known walks?
Yes. I’ve explored the area extensively with my dog, BB, and I’m very happy to recommend quieter routes and our favourite walks with spectacular views.
Is public transport available nearby?
Yes. The local bus stops around 50 yards from the property.
How close are local attractions?
The Giant’s Causeway is approximately 5.5 miles away on foot and much closer by car. Many other popular attractions are within a 15–30 minute drive.
Is the area suitable for winter or off-season stays?
Yes. If you enjoy the great outdoors, peaceful scenery and exploring with your dog, this area is ideal at any time of year.
Arrival & Practical
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 3:00pm and check-out is by 11:00am. I always try to be as flexible as possible where I can, so please feel free to ask in advance.
Is late arrival possible?
Yes. If I know in advance, I can arrange for a key to be left so you can arrive at a time that suits you.
Is the property easy to find?
Yes. Dunseverick Rambler’s Rest is clearly marked on Google Maps and there are signs from the road. You will need to drive up a short farm track to reach the property.
Are there shops or restaurants within walking distance?
No. There are no shops or restaurants within a short walk of the property. However, Bushmills is only around 4 miles away by car and offers a good selection of shops, cafés and restaurants.
Can you help if we arrive without a car?
Yes, I’m happy to help where I can — just let me know in advance.
Do you offer luggage transfer or shopping assistance?
Yes. If I know in advance, I can assist with luggage collection or basic shopping.
Is mobile signal reliable?
Yes, mobile signal is generally reliable.
What should we know before arriving?
The property is off the beaten track, so you will need to drive to reach restaurants and pubs. Being dog friendly there may be dogs roaming freely in the yard.

What is your cancellation policy?
Unless you choose a cheaper non-refundable rate, free cancellation is available up to three days before arrival.

Can I book more than one room?
Yes. I have two double rooms and one family room, which sleeps up to four guests. Multiple rooms can be booked subject to availability.
Is the accommodation suitable for children?
Yes. The family room sleeps up to four guests, and a cot can be added if required. Please let me know in advance.
Do you accept last-minute bookings?
Yes, last-minute bookings are welcome, subject to availability.
Can I extend my stay once I arrive?
Yes, if availability allows, you are welcome to extend your stay.
